New nursing program at Swedish Institute.

Published

Greetings all, I'm currently in the process of applying to Nursing school in NYC. I have currently came across an A.A.S. program which is newly opening Jan, 2012 @ the Swedish Institute.

I was wondering if anyone seeking into a nursing program has heard any insite on this new program and if so, Does anybody know the hospital affiliation

Reasons being, I have contacted the college and because it is a new program, they aren't sure of to know where their clinicals will be held.

Thank you, I look forward to hearing some feedback and advice.

I'm looking at schools all over NY as well. I came across Swedish Institute as well and one of my friends just graduated there from the Massage Therapy program.

She has nothing but great things to say about the school; their dedication, the professors, clinics, facilities.

I haven't heard about the hospital affiliation either, but I think I'm deff going to apply. The tuition rate is very reasonable and all of there other programs have a high success rate... Can't help but think that this program will too!

The first class was admitted in January. The school is NOT accredited by the National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission or any other nationally accredited commission. It's accredited by the state only. Does that mean those who graduate from the program cannot use their license in another state? Does it mean that those who graduate from the program cannot advance their studies toward a BSN since only those attending accredited nursing school programs qualify to attend other accredited schools to pursue advanced studies? Does anyone have any advice? The Swedish Institute is only accredited by the state not by a national governing body.

Does the Swedish Chef teach at the Swedish Institute?
