New nurse and would love to work in dialysis cnter

Published

Hi everyone! I have just recently passed the Philippine board exam for nurses. :nurse:I would love to work as a renal nurse in the states.. Could you give me any advices on what I should do so I could work there ASAP? What tests/permit/certifications/trainings do I need? :specs:

I currently have no experience in the nursing field. I do have 3years working experience as a medical technologist in the laboratory hospital thou (I'm a Medical Technologist who took a second degree :) ). I only have a tourist visa to the states..

Help would be greatly appreciated. :) :)

Thanks!:thankya:

Congrats on passing the board!

In my humble opinion, you would do best by working a year or two on a medical surgical floor in a hospital and then switch to a critical care floor.

Once you've had 6 months to a year in critical care, then go into Dialysis.

You need that background under your belt before you can really appreciate the autonomy that you need working Dialysis.

Best wishes...
