New nurse anxiety

Hi, I am a new grad nurse working in the ER for about 5 months, I was a nurse extern for a year and a half before starting as a nurse. Recently I have been having more anxiety before, during, and after work, and often times feeling restless after  work and feeling as though I forgot my to do something, feeling as though I am doing something wrong or overlooked something. I do what I am supposed to such as scanning meds, charting appropriately and trying my best to give a detailed report to the floor. In many ways I guess I am lacking confidence and was wondering how other nurses overcame the stress and anxiety, or have been in a similar situation. Thank you for your time.

That is a tough area to be in when you have loads of experience,so I hear your pain.I think you might be getting over the honeymoon period and realizing how much you don't know and it is anxiety provoking. If you really like the area I would consider finding counseling to help you over the hump, but privately ,do not leak this into grapevine,I assume you have not killed anyone yet so you are salvagable.

If you do not really like it  seek counseling and then plan your exit/transfer to another area etc.

We are not furniture ,nor are we interchangeable,we have much to offer but we need to feel safe and happy, respected.

Don't worry that's a normal feeling especially in the ER. Learn what your weakness are and then tackle those areas and don't shy away from them with time it all will be 2nd nature and after a year you will have a good flow of things
