New NS, What's your first "nursing shoe" gonna be?

Published

My program starts in a few weeks and we must wear all white leather shoes of any style ( including athletic).

I considered sketchers, and Dansko clogs, New Balance. I researched every possible option but somehow wound up buying a pair of all white leather Nike Shox, on a whim. :o I saw them displayed in the window of a shoe store in the mall, envisioned wearing them with my new school embroidered scrubs and before I knew it, I plopped $130 down for them. I hope they're comfy!

What is your first attempt at finding the perfect shoe going to be?

(if you're already in NS, tell us about your first pair, I bet you remember! :nurse:

Going into my 3rd year here.

We were told we needed plain white shoes... and since i couldn't find any that were plain white and not overpriced, i borrowed my sisters plain flat nikes (she bought them to dance at her wedding, but never wore them again as they are butt ugly) and wore them for a few months. Incredibly uncomfortable shoes, so after a few months i just wore MY colorful sneakers--- and no one said anything to me about it. (the instructor also doesn't wear plain white)

I'm very happy that I didn't spend any money just for white shoes.

After trying on 15,000 pairs of shoes (well it felt like it) I settled on a pair of Landau's FootWearX for Comfort. They are very comfortable and I can use bleach on them.

I'm buying a pair of Crocs work shoes and my friend is sending me a pair of sketchers sneaker type shoe, she said they were comfy for her but she doesn't need them anymore. I've heard danskos are great.

I just bought a pair of Timberland's nursing shoes hella expensive but are SUPER comfy!

We are not allowed crocs and our shoes must be 100% white. I chose nurse mates. If they don't work out I'll try something else as they were cheap.

After Having painful feet after my first two weeks, I did some research on the type of shoes that would be best for my foot type. I decided to take a chance on New Balance 927. They have worked really well for me so far.

im still shopping for shoes. im going to hit up the shoe stores this weekend for tax-free weekend. im aiming for the skechers at uniform city, but i ha ve flat feet so i need support, but im not trying to drop $100+ on a pair of shoes. danskos were recommended to me by another RN, but again the price is a factor not to mention they look very unsafe like trying to play football in stillettos:down: and i need shoes that i don't have to worry about slipping off and something with laces or a strap like mary janes.

I'm still stuck on what I want my first shoe to be. I've been looking on Nurse Mates, they've got a lot of shoes that are cute/comfy looking to me and they have good ratings! I haven't quite decided if I want to go with a pair or not, I'm still on the fence, but I'm leaning towards a pair of the Angels.

I got Dansko's as my first shoe. They were okay, but then I got a pair of Timberland's as my second...HEAVEN! SOOO COMFY! I'm a Timberland's wearer for life now :)

I bought NurseMates. We aren't allowed to wear Crocs, or anything with holes or exposed backs... no clog style limits you to very few choices and the NMs seem pretty comfy!
