Does anyone know the exact location of this hospital? I got called for an interview and spoke over the phone with the HR person and she told me they are starting to interview the management and will soon start with nursing. I applied for a Med Surg Tele position. She said the orientation will be in Bayshore before they open up the new hospital units. Anyone else applying here? I just moved to the Galleria area and i believe Bayshore is like a 45min drive and starting at 7am that will kind of suck for a while.

I thought they were hiring only RN I. It is off 288. It is a nice facility
Idk. An HR lady I believe named Angie contacted me and asked me to fill out the behavioral assessment. After that she called me over the phone for a pre interview. I worked at a neurology outpatient clinic before so maybe thats why. Not sure if that makes me an RNI or what not. That was at a different state though and i didn't have my Texas RN License yet. I just got that last week and i emailed her that i was still interested in the position but haven't heard back.
Be patient. You have experience so they may be classifying you as RN II. I looked at their website and that is what they are asking for so, this is a good thing if they contacted you. I just heard from Memorial Southwest and I thought they already made their decisions for the Nurse Residency, back in October so do not worry about the delay in HR contacting you back. Good luck!
I hope one of them calls me back. I'm starting to lose hope. I could probaly work at a clinic or Dr office but that's not the path I want to follow.

Well I just sat for an interview with the Med Surg Tele unit I applied for. She was super nice but I think I blew it when she asked me if I knew what standardized treatment are that are used nationwide and are known as best practice. Of course I know what these are, like the heparin and compression stocking post surgical etc. But she used another fancy acronym that left me like deer in the headlight and caught me off guard so I answered no.
So with that said, I think I blew it. I'll be sending my thank you note and hoping for the best. (Sigh)
Not to mention that when I scheduled the interview with the HR lady she told me the managers were being very selective.
I am trying not to lose hope, but I am going to followup with everyone in the next couple of weeks just in case someone they originally selected fails the NCLEX.
Did you apply to Pearland? Hey I just saw a bunch of new postings for New Grad RNS in the Methodist page. I applied for a bunch of RN 1. I guess I'm not eligible to the new Grad internships because I'm technically not a new grad even though an internship like that will help me tons. I don't think I'll get the Pearland position so I'll be waiting for a rejection email soon. I won't be too upset because it's a far drive for me (1hr) and it sounded a bit intimidating when the manager was telling me how she expected the nurses to keep up with protocol treatments that are best practice and that we need to do everything on that list of treatments to keep the reputation of best hospital and costumer outcome and satisfaction. So she'll be very demanding and picky and that scares me!
I just wanted to say to those who has not gotten an offer, DO NOT GIVE UP. Places such as Memorial is still opening New Grad positions and calling . They are trying to make quick decisions but it is not over. Also remember, if someone does not pass the NCLEX, that is another slot. I also learned to reapply especially if it the position looks like it was reposted. Good luck to everyone.
