I'm confused on what kind of insurance i should purchase for myself...if anyone has any suggestions or good place to purchase my malpractice insurance i would really appreciate the input! i have heard that i should carry my own coverage but i dont know where to even begin to start to find it!

Most nurses have insurance through NSO: http://www.nso.com
I purchased my insurance through Proliability: http://www.proliability.com
Professional Liability Insurance is probably what you are speaking of.

hi,
check with your place of employment- sometimes -hosptials, doctor offices, etc, will pay for their employees insurance. My employer pays for mine through the same company they provides his insurance- If any of us gets sued, usually they will also go for the biggest dog in the house- meaning the physican/ or hospital. If your place of employment does not offer insurance - go through NSO- you can find their information any nursing jounal or the number that I got from Nursing 2006 is 1-800-247-1500. Good Luck
