New LVN Student

Published

Hello,

I just recently got accepted into LVN school at Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, TX. I have read Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology for Dummies Series. I feel that I should relax until I start school on 8/26/2013 but requesting other opinions.

Please feel free to share.

Congrats on starting nursing school!

I am returning to school after a year hiatus to take care of my ailing father, I pick up where I left off in October!

It's fantastic that you have read those books (I read the demystified series of the same!) and it'll definitely help you out to have a leg up on some reading, and a&p is vital throughout school!

You've got a month, take a break! Enjoy your last month of freedom, make sure to take good care of yourself. Eating healthy and lots of sleep probably sound a little cliche, but I've found that it truly does help and you'll be missing sleep soon enough!

Something I've been doing to prepare myself is reading those books and making brief outlines of anything that confuses me or that makes me second guess myself. I did this during class and I plan to continue doing this through out my class. I used these to study for exams, as they focused directly on the information that I am unsure of.

Good luck on your journey! Keep us posted as you go!!!
