The best way is to keep up with the material by understanding it. I liked to use a big sketch book with different colored sharpies. I would draw, list and do whatever I could think of to figure out what we were studying. Organizing my thoughts like this really seemed to help me. Rewriting your notes is also helpful as is leaving an inch or so margin on your notes to write in additional notes while you are studying. One of my classmates even started doing Saunders questions from day one and found this to be helpful in studying for exams. I always tried to read the material prior to class and have questions ready for the instructor on things I didn't understand. This was very helpful.
Can you be more specific as to what classes you are taking? That may help us give advice as to how is the best way to study.
Thanks for the advice. By the way, my classes are Fund. of Vocn Nursing, Basic Med Surg/Skills Lab and Basic Med/Surg Nursing.
