New LPN with anxiety!!!!

Published

I just started training as a nurse. I am going on my forth day tomorrow and I am having crazy anxiety!!! I keep thinking what if I make a med error or forget to do something and how long is it going to take me until I really get the hang of things because with having to learn all the paper work for everything I just feel completely lost. I keep thinking am I ever going to catch on, what if I'm not smart enough to do this or just crazy thoughts. I love being a nurse but have such fear of making a mistake especially a serious one:/ I go home thinking all kinds if crazy things and it even keeps me up at night sometimes. What is some good advice to helping with this anxiety because I feel like I'm going to have a breakdown:(

Get organized....search for brain sheets here on AN.

Also, take your time, you will get the hang of it...it takes getting used to.

Don't forget to BREATHE.

Let us know how it goes!!!

Give it some time. Leave work at work.

Its overwhelming at first...but I promise it will get better! Just chill and take a deep breath. :nurse:

You can search here on AN for brain sheets for ideas; they are ways to organize and plan your shift.
