6 new laptops or 3 new BP machines?

Published

I have to write a paper (as a manager) on what I would choose to buy if we only had the budget to buy 6 new laptops or 3 new BP machines for the floor. :twocents: I'm torn between these because I have been on floors that need BP machines and have too many computers already; and I've been on some floors that need laptops because you can never get on one to document in a timely fashion. Any suggestions?

I don't think your final decision matters. What does matter is that you use the steps of the nurssing process to organize this paper and rationalize the decision you do make. Assess the situation. Determine the problem. Plan. Ultimately, it is the assessment data that you input and how you analyze it to come to your conclusion that your instructors will take into consideration--not whether you decide on laptops or BP machines. Make sure you include financial data and the age of the current laptop and BP machines in current use.

The above reply is 100% correct. A mantra that I live by is "There is no truth, there is only perspective." What this means...any time you have to write something, especially something with rhetorical background, it's not what you say...it's how you say it. By picking an answer and defending/supporting it, they will judge your ability to process information and make an informed decision. There is no right or wrong, there is only proving that you can look at a body of data, infer from it, and make a decision that you can support with logic.

Awesome! Thank you both. This will make it much easier to write my paper this weekend.

Thanks again!
