Hello everyone. I'm hoping to get some ideas. I've been an lvn in California for 16 years. Most experience is in snf but have done home health and visits also. I'm trying to get out of direct patient care. Besides the fact its emotionally and physically draining. ....it's stressful. I seriously need something less stressful physical and emotionally draining. Please I'm desperate to not be on the floor at snf. Thanks so much in advance.

Private duty nursing is generally easier.
Frankly, I find corrections easier, and they are always looking for LVNs for pill pass.
Also, perhaps private school nursing. Typically you need an RN in CA, but private schools are a bit more lenient.

I have no personal experience using a Staffing agency, but I have friends who do, and they really like that the agency sets them up with schedules and jobs they actually want to do.

Some major insurance companies utilize LVNs to do telephonic case management either from home or an office/cubicle setting. You may wish to explore this type of employment opportunity.

I did school nursing through an agency. It was low stress. Got holidays off. Never stayed past 330. Unfortunately I had high stress myself during the summer when I had to scramble to find work when school was off. My agency wasn't very good about giving me employment during the summer. Something even less stressful is being a nurse on the bus. I would ride the bus with some kids who had trachs and then ride back with them. I got paid 2 hours each way. Only 4 hours each day so you better have a rich husband or doing another side job. It worked well when I was also doing personal training between bus rides.
