I graduated from Monmouth University January 2014 with a BS in Business Management. Although I thought I found my niche in the family business-I am not happy with my job. I feel like the only way I am going to feel content in my career is of I am helping others. I know I can handle the hospital environment because I have experience being hospitalized due to Crohn's Disease. I learned to appreciate and respect my nurses. I was able to see myself as a nurse. I am doing very well as far as my health. After doing a bunch of research, I think nursing would be a perfect fit.

My questions are:

* Should I choose a NLNAC or CCNE institution? Which one opens more doors?

* Is UMDNJ now part of Rutgers School of Nursing?

* If I get my RN license here in NJ, am I licensed in any state?

Hope to here from you guys!

Thank you for reading.

Should I choose a NLNAC or CCNE institution? Which one opens more doors.

Both are equal and will open the same amount of "doors". CCNE only accredits BSN & higher programs. The NLN accredits LPN, diploma, ASN & BSN programs.

* Is UMDNJ now part of Rutgers School of Nursing?

Yes

If I get my RN license here in NJ, am I licensed in any state?

No. Each state has it's own licensing process. Once licensed in NJ you can apply for a license by endorsement to other stays after paying licensing fees and meeting requirements. You only have to take the NCLEX once

Admissions are highly competitive to ABSN programs and usually all pre-req's have to be met prior to admission (microbiology with lab, A&P 1&2 with lab, human growth & development, nutrition, statistics, general psych, etc). ABSN programs are fast paced and move quickly through the material and often require a lot of commitment to complete classroom& clinical in a relatively short period of time.
