I had an interview with the director of a new Hospice house this week. I am really excited about the possiblitity of working there. They are planning on pet therapy and gardens within the next 5 years. Anyone here work in this kind of institution? What can I expect to be doing on a day to day basis as an RN? (IF I get the job;) )

also known as inpatient care facilities, hospice houses are short term facilities, reserved for hospice pts unable to remain at home. this is usually r/t a progression of the disease w/escalating symptoms, requiring more intensive nsg care and mgmt.
a residential, inviting atmosphere w/supplemental therapies (such as pets, waterfalls, aromatherapy, music) are all key components in providing holistic care.
i wish you well....
it's a most rewarding specialty.
