Hello I am a critical care nurse have been in nursing for 9 yrs now. had worked in home health as an LNA for about a yr and s an RN per-diem for about 6mo. I have now ventured into opening a skilled nsg HHA along with two business partners with a non clinical background (marketing major and software engineer with HR background). we are at the stage we are looking to get accredited by CHAPS. I am currently trying to learn all the policies, procedures that we had purchased and concurrently learning federal and state regulations, OASIS documentation as well as figuring out where to start on taking in patients. Anyone else in process of opening a HHA ??? currently I have been learning things one at a time and doing everything without a consultant... I feel like in the self study period we are going to get bombarded with issues that I hadn't been aware of due to lack of experience...anyone have been in this situation? any suggestions? should I get a consultant at this stage??
sorry for the rant... feeling overwhelmed :-/
