Hello fellow nurses, cna's, md's, ma's and anyone else I have forgotten,
I am new to the forum and am not having much luck searching for info on reciprocity/license by endorsement
I will be relocating to FL in appx two months, I understand they require a fingerprint card and a 2 hr CEU for preventing medication errors (is this before or after I apply) does anyone know where I get the fingerprint cards except through the mail from FL BON? I was hoping to just apply, pay the crazy amount for license and be done with it. It seems a little more involved. I am currently licensed and working PT in my home state. No criminal background, no drug issues etc
Thank you so much for any help/advice you can offer :)
Sorry the font size is so small (for me at least) lol
I will use bold here

I applied and got my LPN license for Florida last year and I just went to my local police station and they had the cards needed for the fingerprints. They were very familiar with what Florida wants since they are very picky and no fingerprints can be smudged, I called first and they said sure just come in anytime plus no charge since I lived here locally-Indiana. As for the CEU's just got on the site they recommended and did they CEU's and they sent them to the Florida board-really easy!

Hi Thanks for the info I was a bit overwhelmed with the paperwork.....Nice to know it is easy.......
Thank you CJ, I appreciate your reply
so good to hear. I have enough on my mind right now:cry:
I am excited about living and working there, I have subscribed to 2 newspapers and hope to get a position in LTC.
Preferrably geri or geri psych. Some of those people have No one to advocate for them, just mainly staff. it's the same here, very sad.
I know my wages will be less, it;s looking like appx 5-6 dollars less, but I have budgeted very carefully and I don't need or want material things, I just want to be closer to my Dad and daughter, I am pretty determined, so I will be just fine :)
Just feeling a little overwhlmed with getting a position as soon as I can. Either that or I will take a job at Dunkin Donuts until I know more and can research more before I aceept a position at a questionable facility.
do you or anyone else know any good companies in Kissimmee area? Orlando and St Cloud seems very nice.
My car is fairly decent so I won't mind commuting 20-25 minutes or so. I know there are a few really good hospitals there, but I have done hospital work and it is just not for me. I like a slower pace, even if it is loud and probably involves long med passes, I don't mind that.
Feeling a little shaky here, this is a big move and I want to do things and set myself up so i am not scrambling and going crazy when I get there. I am going to look at a place in Kissimmee...off John Young and Orange Blossom Trail, fingers crossed! :heartbeat Thank you all so much!
for the CEU? was it CeBroker, something like that?? I saw it somewhere....thank you
Sorry not familiar with any companies there, I would think LTC should be easy to get a job the problem is finding a good one. I got my license last year but then some health issues with my mother-in-law kept us here. I plan on doing travel nursing and now that everything is settled here at home will start this year. Good Luck with your attitude I don't think you'll have any problems!!!!:nuke:
