New grads working part-time or PRN??

Published

Is anyone planning on doing this? I've been a SAHM for 10 years and am just now getting back into nursing and finishing my BSN. I'm having some second thoughts about going back to full-time right away and was wondering if part-time is even an option for new grads? I am so spoiled by being at home that working full-time and losing the flexibility I've had for so long is sort of :uhoh3::bugeyes:.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

It depends on your area and a bit on what unit you want to work. I started out part-time in psych. Good luck.

Specializes in Telemetry & Obs.

I haven't heard of any new grad fellowships that are p/t. I would think even if you didn't have a fellowship that you'd need precepting, etc.

Specializes in Peds Hem, Onc, Med/Surg.

Here where I live no new grads can get part time. All new gns must be full time. I know, I tried.
