New Grad transfering to Daytona area...Needing salary Info!

Published

I will be graduating in December and moving straight to New Smyrna Beach. I am having a hard time finding salary info for local hospitals for New grads. Also, do hospitals take new grads around that area? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Specializes in Intensive medical care.

New Smyrna is beautiful but goodness I can't wait to graduate and leave Volusia county. Halifax Medical Center hires Graduate nurses at $17.95 per hour (so I've been told, I'm still in school). Not sure what the RN's make. Florida Hospital also hires graduate nurses but I have no idea what the pay rate is. Salary.com is a pretty accurate tool to tell you what to expect. The zip codes for Halifax and Florida hospital are 32114 and 32174 respectivly. Good luck!!:heartbeat

After Grad, Halifax started me at $19, they just had a thing where they were paying the per diems for not having insurance, then they tried to (or did) (I'm not sure) take a percentage away. It was in the Daytona Beach News Journal. I felt like I was chewed up and spit out every night when I got home. The people were all wonderful there to work with, but the work was rough for me. We had alot of crackheads with attitudes on our floor, and they were rough. I now work at a smaller place for much more and absolutely love it!
