Hi all, I just started my 1st rn position . I am on orientation and feel overwhelmed already and its just the first week.
I just dont know.. I feel like i know nothing and i did not even start on the floor yet.
I notice that in the orientation class, some of the experienced nurses stay away from the new grads like my self.......
what can i expect on the floor as a new grad?
every seems overwhelming right now
any advice other than the usual ask for help?

First get the time management piece down. While it is great to know all of the ins and outs of your particular patient population, learning the basics is more important. Try to map out your plan of care at the beginning of your shift. Just know that it is merely a template as nothing goes according to plan. Don't put things off, tackle what you can when time permits. Always ask for help if you have a question or are running behind. Best of luck.
