Hi all -

My husband and I are relocating to the Phoenix area and I'm reading up on Mayo's Graduate Support program. I know new grads typically begin at Mayo in January and June but I'm wondering how soon in advance they put the listings up. Anyone know anything about this? I don't graduate until August but I want to be prepared to submit my application as soon as I can for the January '12 class. Any insight is greatly appreciated! :nurse::)

I know that they usually only post the position for just a few days, so you gotta be checking the website EVERY day and apply the SECOND you see it posted! I had classmates that missed out on this opportunity because they figured they'd get around to applying that week, but the position was closed after just 3 days. It may also be helpful to call the education department or HR and ask if they will tell you the actual date they will be posting it. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this info - very helpful! I'll have to keep my eyes glued. Typically, how soon before the class starts does this approximately-3-day listing show up? For instance, if you're looking into the January class, would the posting go up the June prior? Thanks a million!

I think they post them about 4 months ahead of time. But don't quote me on that...every session might be different. I'd call the office to see if they'll tell you and then double check the website every day after June, if I were you.

Thanks a lot! Gosh, I'd hate to miss it by even a day with such a short interval! I left them a voicemail today. And when you say to check the website… do you mean to check the nursing job postings? Do they post it there as a "regular" job posting? Does that make sense?

Yes, the job is posted under their job postings. Can't remember what it is called, but something lalong the lines of New Graduate Nurse Program, know what I mean?

I applied for the January start date. I checked every day three times a day, and one day I saw the "check back soon" sentence change to "the application, titled "blahblah" will be available September 13-15". And it was!

Some time later (two weeks?) I got a "thanks but no thanks" email from them but the following week a different name called and set up an interview for late October. They did all their interviews that week, and they let us know mid-November.

Thank you for responding! How interesting about the rejection email and then the call. Did you wind up getting hired?

I called and they did say this September for next January. I will stalk the website starting end of summer!

Thanks! :) I actually don't graduate until August, so I'm looking for the January start. They said it will be posted in September. I'm going to take a look at the February posting when it's up so I know what I'll need do!

Did you enter their new graduate program?

Hey! I am in their new grad program and I love it. I highly recommend volunteering or being active in the community. Nursing is about helping others, and actions definitely speak louder than words. Good luck to you!!
