new grad postings

Published

Thank you for posting new grad programs but you know you are only hurting your own chances by doing that. I have found many of these programs on my own from searching. When you post the openings you just invite all your competition. You wonder why you dont have a job? Sorry if this sounds mean but its true. Good luck everyone.

It doesn't make a difference. Posting it here or not, you will ALWAYS have hundreds of competitors.

When people post the big ones, such as New Grad openings and positions at major hospitals, I don't really care. Everyone and their mom know about those from basic google searches and job listings.

When people post links to RN 1 openings at small hospitals with websites that are hard to find, I get annoyed. All of a sudden, the position has 1,000 candidates and my chances of interview or acceptance are lowered by leaps and bounds. Sad face.

this is a community forum, where we can all share information with one another. some people may be new to searching for new grad postings and use this website. i didn't know how to search for postings until I came across this site and I'm very thankful for the select few that actually share information with the rest of us. some new grad postings don't appeal to me or don't fit my qualifications and I know that it may fit others. just because the economy is very bad doesn't mean i'm going to have a "crab" mentality. I'll help others if I can. and I agree with missyrynal-the competition isn't going to get easier since more new grads are graduating this spring and summer.

As an ADN grad I know that BSN grads are getting offers over me. Im sure other ADNs feel the frustration as well. Its like my application goes in the trash. and you are right the competition is not going to get easier. Thats why Im just saying it frustrating when a person spends alot of time looking for jobs, has experience and others who had no idea a hospital existed pop on to apply for the job.

I believe that some of the people who are posting jobs already have jobs, just trying to help those who DON'T have jobs.

Sorry you are having difficulty finding a job, but there are many new grads who don't. It's just a bad time to be looking for a job regardless of your profession.

Keep in mind that just because a position is posted, does not mean they have intention of filling it.

Many new graduate programs are being canceled. The few that are left have cut down on their openings, and many will decide to fill the position with an experienced nurse since there are many currently looking for more jobs.

While the economy is very rough, negativity is not going to help you in your job search. Best of luck to all the new grads hunting.

Thanks Nickilaughs! Good advice!

Whether the competition is only one or one thousand, I believe, makes little difference in whether or not I am offered a job, so I don't care if someone chooses to help out others on this site.
