New grad 2 phone interviews medsurg in rural alberta

Posted

Hello everyone, I am a new grad and have manage to secure two phone interviews. One in Camrose Alberta and the other in Cold Lake both medsurg. I am looking for tips on rural nursing questions , Im aware I have to be familiar with the most common diseases in rural areas etc. Anything else? I have been researching on the hospitals, and community in general but still nervous this will be my first nursing interviews! Thanks in advance

Cold Lake serves a mixed population. There is a major airbase there. Know stuff that affects young, healthy people.

They will be interested to know how you prioritize care, how you will access resources, how you handle conflict, and what some of your strengths and weaknesses are.

Be prepared to offer specific examples and be prepared for case study type scenarios re: typical illnesses seen in that population.

Thanks so much , ok I will be researching all of that now.
