Is there any chance of finding a job? I graduated in may and recently passed the nclex. I haven't even gotten an interview.... I am currently working in a fast food restaurant the same job I worked all though out school. Can I get points for. Good work ethic at least? Lol

Of course you can find a job. Many new grads have no experience other than an unrelated healthcare job, just make sure to highlight customer service and good work ethics as selling points in your resume, ie. relate your current job to nursing somehow. Depending on your area finding your first nursing job will take diligence, patience, and persistence. Good luck! I'm on the search for my first RN job as well.

Yes...you have a future working as a nurse. My question for you is...What are you doing to get your first nursing job? How many jobs are you applying to? Are you networking with other nurses? While are you waiting I recommend you get your BLS and ACLS.

I'm sure u will find a job soon. Don't stop searching!
I mean people are always screaming about a shortage of nurses :)
Congrats on becoming an RN. I'm still trying to get to your status.
On a different note I am taking the NCLEX at the end of the month.
I was hoping you could tell me what to expect.

No one expects new grads to have nursing experience. Your chances of getting a job are pretty much determined by how you stack up with others who are competing for the same job(s). There is no way you can ever know very much about the competition, so all you can do is present yourself in the best way possible.
Make sure you devote some regularly scheduled time to your job search in order to keep it high on your list of priorities. Just like the lottery.... "you have to play to win"!!
Just a quick note - THE SHORTAGE IS A MYTH - see any one of the bajillion threads here on AN that address that issue. There, I feel better now that I got that out of my system - LOL.

Hey I would be familiar with basic nursing interventions and the steps to perform them. I had like 7 Sata, a couple med questions. I just did practice questions from Saunders and ati to prepare for the test. Didnt think it was too hard tho it did feel like a lot of guessing lol. Good luck! Just trust ur instinct :)
