New Grad Moving Out of State Dilemma

Hi there, I've got a bit of a dilemma that I'm hoping to get some advice on. I just recently graduated from a nursing school in Connecticut, filled out all the paperwork and paid all the fees to get my CT license and signed up to take my NCLEX here in July. However, my fiance just accepted a job offer in Phoenix, AZ and will be moving out there in a few weeks.

So here's my questions for you:

1) Is it too late to change the state I'd be getting my license in since I already filled out paperwork and paid the fees for CT?

2) If it is not too late, would it be easier and/or more cost effective to go through the process of changing the state license or should I just get my CT license first and get my AZ license by endorsement later.

The reason why I ask is because I would like to try and find a job ASAP when we get there and I'm assuming the license by endorsement will take a while to process so if I can skip the CT license and get the AZ license right off the bat I imagine I'll be saving time and money which would be nice since moving across the country is expensive!

I'm not sure about your actual timetable, but if you aren't moving until after you take the NCLEX in CT, then you can still apply for jobs in AZ telling them you're awaiting your AZ license by endorsement from CT. You might be able to reschedule your CT testing date to sooner, too. Do it.

You can certainly send money to AZ and arrange to take NCLEX there if you'll be there faster, and try to get the money back from CT.
