You need to market yourself. What other work experience do you have that can bolster your resume? You need to sell yourself, don't just rely on the fact that now you have a license, so hire me. That doesn't work in any career field.

I'm a new grad and got a job in Northern California in 2 weeks of getting my license. I contacted the facilities directly like you did, but my resume speaks to what other skills I have in addition to my license. Like, customer service, being able to relate to people, relate to management, etc. There must be more to your resume than just your license. What was your grades like in school? Top 10%? That's always a good attention getter for a hiring manager. It shows you have goods work ethics and skills and would be a good team player.

Good luck!

I like your take on marketing yourself based on other skills. Do you think you could post you resume, so I could get an idea of how yours looked -- it worked afterall!! I am trying to come up with a new resume as well. I just passed the NCLEX.!! Now I have to start working ASAP.
