New Grad Jobs in Houston

I graduated in december 2008 from a bsn program. I am struggling to find a job in houston. everyone i call wants at least at least one year of experience. It seems that my only options are june 2009 internships and those are still not guaranteed. Is anyone in the Houston area having the same problem ?

Memorial Hermann does some hiring outside of the normal internships for new grads. There's a few girls in the NICU where I work that have been hired after the internships started because of when they graduated.

If you are willing to work on a med surg unit, you will probably be able to find a job. The hospital such as St. Lukes, Methodist and MD Anderson seem to have stricter requirements. I would try Hermann Memorial Hospital Systems and Ben Taub. You might have your best luck with Ben Taub and it is a great place to work. I worked for many years in the ED there and I loved it. Always had good stories to tell my friends. HR is real slow there so you will have to keep on them. Find out who the manager is of the area your interested in and send them an application along with one to HR.
