Hello All,
I have been accepted into two pre-nursing programs, but as I have been reading over asked and answered questions/comments about job opportunities post-BSN. I have gotten a bad feeling about the possibility of new grad employment after my degree.
I have wanted to pursue nursing for a long time; can someone give me advice on the job market in Southern California or the Tampa area of Florida (for new grads)?
Thank you!

The new grad job market in Tampa isn’t terrible, but it is competitive. Most of the major hospitals have a residency program, some are ones a year, some are quarterly. Let me know if you choose Tampa and I can help you out. Also Tampa will be much much lower pay than California as there are no unions in Tampa

Jobs are out there even in saturated markets. As long as you are aware of it being competitive and have realistic expectations (e.g. not necessarily landing dream specialty/schedule/commute as first job) it is very much still possible to find employment as a new grad.
@RocketRN2019 Thank you for the information on Tampa and your offer of assistance! I was looking around online and found a few new grad residency programs; as of now I am definitley looking to do a residency. But, I don't have much knowledge on unions. In your opinion, would you rather be unionized or not?
