I will be graduating this May and have been told to go ahead and start applying for jobs now. I'm finding that not many hospitals have new grad programs. Anyone know of any great hospitals to apply to that are new grad friendly, or have new grad programs in Georgia?

I know for a fact that Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has a great new grad orientation program, and since Emory stuff tends to cross over, Emory Hospital probably has a program similar, but check it out to be sure...
Good luck!

I found out that Northside has a great intern progtam. The program cycles you through many areas. I think it would be a great start if you are not sure where you want to land in nursing yet. Good luck, I still have another year but am looking for an extern program for this summer.

As already mentioned, Northside is very good. Check out Newton County in Covington also.

I would recommend Newton Co also...I am a new grad and they hired me...regarding the ICU, all of the nurse recruiters I have spoken with have said they will not hire new grads for ICU, they want you to have med/surg experience first...

I am graduating in May, and will be relocating to Kennesaw, GA from North Carolina. I will be living fairly close to Kennestone Hospital. What does anyone know about their new grad opportunities, employee satisfaction, etc.?

For ICU, also consider the Atlanta VA Medical Center. They are a teaching hospital and are great for new grads.

Several new grads from my NS have been hired there.
Also, consider St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta. I just interviewed with them and their new grad program seems quite extensive and well developed. I really liked them a lot.

I am a new grad and am working now in the ICU at Kennestone Hospital. I absolutely love it! The people there are great, the hospital is big and beautiful and the orientation program is long and efficient. 6 months in all. All of the ICU's there focus on teamwork and positive attitudes. It's an awesome place to be and would highly recommend it to anyone. :)

NurseDawg06,
I am thrilled that you landed a job at Kennestone's ICU - and are so happy there. Congratulations! I'm starting my final year at NGCSU, and was wondering if it was difficult getting at job in ICU at Kennestone. ??? I've heard ICU jobs are few and far between for new grads, and I was wondering if you could give me some much needed advice on when to apply, if you went directly to the hiring manager for that floor, etc. I did my clinicals at Kennestone last year and really liked the hospital, in general. I've applied numerous times online for a tech position, but to no avail...any suggestions?! Thanks so much!!!
