Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

gl25: thanks for the heads up! :)anyway, after my post yesterday i received my visa support letter from con just now.
unfortunately it didn't include a specific date unlike ey-em's letter. so now i am worried. any one have thoughts on the following:
(1) on the 456 form http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/456.pdf.
question 1: over what period do you wish to visit australia?
what will i place?
(2) to all those who applied for this kind of visa? have you included statutory declaration in your application?
(3) i am already unemployed and question 13 asks if i am employed or self employed. what should i place?
i know one forumer also asked this question last year, but i couldn't find the post already. hehe
(4) have you included medical/travel insurance?
help please :)
this is my visa support letter from con: the letter like ey - em posted is the same letter i received after i was not selected for jan. intake.
thank you for your application for assessment of competence program no. 120 which commences on january 30, 2012 and completes on march 23, 2012. a position for you in this program is contingent upon you furnishing the college of nursing with an appropriate visa 3 weeks prior to the scheduled commencement date. the visa must be valid for the entirety of the program.
if we do not receive your visa by 9 jan 2012 you will be placed onto the waiting list for the next available program.

3. I cant answer you this. sorry. but you can call the visa hotline about your situation. they can assist you on how to answer visa forms.
4. I didnt include this info in the form although I secure an insurance right after I have my visa and plane ticket.
Hope this helps.
Hi! Have you already completed the BP? about to complete? Where and when? Sorry for all the questions, gl25 and I are just searching for other forumers who are possibly for the April intake of CON. Thanks!
Hello fellow nurses! I just want to ask some questions about my application. I received an email two days ago and they are requiring me to pass the following:1. Transcript of the theory subject hours and clinical subject hours as well as a record of clinical experience areas from Emilio Aguinaldo College. They must demonstrate both theory and clinical hours in the following streams: Medical Surgical Adult Nursing Communtiy Nursing Mental Health NursingI believe They are requiring me to send them my RLE and clock hours, correct? It wasnt stated also if it should be sent by the school or if i can send it personally. And as far as i know, there was no separate subject for adult nursing way back in college. What we had was fundamentals and stuff.Im kinda worried now cos i dont want them to decline my application.Hope you guys can help me out
About where to get Statutory Declaration: You have to get it in Australian embassy. First you have to call them for appointment, then you have to pay around 800 plus pesos upon getting it in aussie embassy. the procedure wouldnt take 10 mins. the lady will just ask you to sign something then she put a notarial mark of aussie embassy and sign it,, that's it.

Ask your school about geriatric subject. In my school, I asked for TOR with hrs. in that TOR the subjects are listed with corresponding hrs. instead of units. and yes you have to submit your RLE. About mental and geria, I submitted a course syllabus for that. I think in my nursing 104 or 103, it is there, I cant remember anymore. But that is what I submitted. Ask your school they know what to do with these requirements.
