New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi duh_nick!

why didn't they require you to take the bridging program?

have you applied to the AHPRA as well? when?

thanks!

shynern07 and akying_skye: thank you for your replies

@shynern07: did you get an acknowledgement letter (that your application has already been received by ahpra)?

@aking_skye: i got my acknowledgement letter 1-2 weeks ago. you will get yours too. i fear i've been e-mailing them too much this past few days :uhoh3:

just read page300-last page of part 1. whew! saw wonderful pictures of ryan09 and the gang at deakin university. it's wonderful to know that filipino crab mentality is non-existent here, hence filipinos are helping each other. active members of part 1 of this thread even had an eyeball (nbv edition). i hope there will be another meet up (ahpra edition).

important: i've learned from part 1 of this thread that nursing employment is really difficult in australia but still pinoy nurses with volunteer/zero experience were still able to get a job there

@icu nars how long did you wait for the acknowledgement letter?

hi. if you gave AHPRA a Philippine address for correspondence and you're expecting a letter this week or few weeks ago, you might want to call or visit the post office nearest to you to get the letter yourself. sometimes letters from abroad stays in the post office for weeks before it's delivered to your home address.

APHRA emailed me today that they have received my application and also, asking me to authorize them via email them to deduct 230 $ from my account for my application to progress as I filled-in the wrong one (421.50).:smokin:

Hello sandy. Thanks. I have a relative working in our town's post office and he never misses to bring all our mails as soon as they received it. And he always drops it directly to my fam's business location as it is just near to where he works. I guess Ill just have to wait, but a follow up for the mail doesn't hurt. :) I'll just hold on to what they told me in AHPRA's email, that they have received th application. :coollook:

@sheryn07

The breakdown of the fee was 115 $ for registration and 115 $ for application. I'll contact them tomorrow to clarify this matter. I checked APHRA and still I should be charged 421.25 $. How much did they charge you with your application? Thanks
