Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
Thats when the new criteria for international graduates is to be put in place. No one knows how these will affect international applications from the Phillipines. May be no difference, maybe some criteria same as New Zealand. There must be some changes otherwise they would not have announced the date at the time, things would have carried on as normal.
Wow, its nice to know that AHPRA acknowledges our nursing education here in the Philippines. :)And its confirmed! I called VCHN a while ago, I got in for the February 14, 2011 intake. Yipee! I'm just waiting for the COE so I can start me medicals and lodge my visa. Thanks to everyone here who assisted me in one way or another!
I am hoping for the best for all of us! :)
Will that be the most memorable Valentine's Day in your life?? ...nice blessings for you..
hello everyone! i'm back..thanks to those who congratulated me before..
i just want to know if someone here really experienced applying for a bridging visa while he/she is on a 456 visa? is that possible? i thought 456 visas always have a 'no further stay' condition and therefore you cannot apply for a new visa while you are in AU? is waiting for registration a valid reason for applicants to be granted a bridging visa? i really need to know..my cousin in Au wants me to get a student visa [because she said i can work, and that many acquaintance got there with a student visa, etc.,] but i am more concerned about the time and the cost..with 456 visa I will just have to submit the necessary documents, pay 4k something, and wait for 1-2 wks, but there's a risk that i'll have to go home after 3 mos..
how about you isobelle, what visa are you going to apply for? congrats by the way..ü
if you have good credentials and complete documents, then you will be able to easily process and obtain nursing registration in nz..otherwise, do not bother to apply there....
if people are so concern right now about the processing in ahpra, that concern/headache is 3x if you will apply in nz without good credential and complete documents..
example: if ahpra grants you registration, then expect to also receive your atp easily.. in nz, after getting your registration, you still have another "step" to undertake, you must send application for your atp.. see the difference? that's just one of the examples.. and they check your tor like as if they are using a microscope (hyperbole)... that;s how tedious they are, that is their right, we must not complain about it..
therefore, i still prefer ahpra, despite the long queue..
thanks for ur reply,cioman!
sorry to ask but what´s atp?
cheers:redbeathe
Dear Marsnurse,.......I read page 1 and you said I don't need any..... i guess the "you" refers to Me...my code-name is cioman94...
there was a discussion on this matter that you raised, months ago.. the consensus of the contributors/forumers was that.... as of now, AHPRA has not yet specifically require for overseas nurses to have "experience".. but with regards to that 3 months you mentioned, it was also the opinion of the forumers/contributors that it will be addressed or met via the completion of a (BP) Bridging Program, thus you will still meet the "requirement" they set.. nonetheless, situation now is fluid, thus, i will not be surprised if there will be a lot of changes or new policies that AHPRA will issue now or later.. but as of now, zero experience is acceptable to them (without prejudice to their inherent right to deny an application whether you have an experience or none at all)...
cost of certification? i guess your referring to "certified documents".. it should be around P100 per DOCUMENT.. certified by a notary public.. dont forget that EACH PAGE of the document should be signed by the notary public..
good luck to your application.. and keep checking AHPRAs website for updates for your own good..
Thanks you so much for the reply! :-) I've been training for 2 months already and so many people have advised me to send my application already. Do you think I shud send my application already? Anyway, with the certification I just want to ask.. If I can have it certified by any lawyer? I have a friend who had his documents certified at the australian embassy and it cost him about 1-2k per document. He's still waiting for a reply. On the other hand I have another friend who had her documents certified by a lawyer. She ddnt even visit the australian embassy at all. She's also still waiting for her letter. I'm a bit lost with this. HELP, please?

I still passed NBI clearance ... anyone can just answer NO to those questions , NBI clearance is proof you don't have cases filed against you . I am not sure though if Australia is as sensitive as the US in the kind of NBI clearance result released.
