New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

how much is that? i need a card that is more than 100 pesos

maybe i'll try skype too. but i still need to buy the headphone+mic...if i video chat with an AHPRA nurse then she will see my face lol!

if you need a card that is more than 100 pesos then do not buy SUN.. they only have 100 pesos card... me, i usually buy 2 -3 cards of P100 totalling P300, thus having a P300 load in my SUN sim.. but you better not buy SUN because each card is not more than 100 pesos.. try other cards..

i've asked several prepaid stalls and they really do not have a prepaid card that is more than 100. 100pesos is barely 10 minutes. i think i will just load my globe 1000pesos and use regular load to call them...

nways, im contended with SUN, i just buy either 2-3 cards, thus having 200-300 pesos load, equivalent to 40 to 60 minutes of call.. P5.00 per minute calling to anywhere in Australia.. best deal for me.. what more can i say..

Hi, Good day! I'm Karen. I graduated last April 2007 in a university in the Philippines, took the Nursing Licensure Exam on June 2007, and became a registered nurse the same year. I have worked in a clinic for more than a year. I'm now here in Sydney. My husband is on a student visa and I'm his dependant. We're both also entitled to work (part time). I'm just wondering how can an overseas nurse work here in Sydney? I am willing to undergo a training program or to study again if needed. I'm not sure on what step to take so I need to know if there is a good chance for me to pursue my career here.

I really need some help. I don't have any friends here. My husband is studying in Le Cordon Bleu and I'm home alone, doing nothing! :(

I'm reading this thread for hours now and I'm a little confused. I wanted to send a private message to miks103 because I want to ask him/her something but I don't know how to? ;p I'm kinda sick today so please bear with me. :)

Hi saltandpepper :) i have a feeling you wanted to ask me about the 1 year nursing conversion course? you can take a look at the list of accredited study providers in the AHPRA website >> AHPRA - Accreditation

, then just try to google the list of schools/universities listed there that offers the conversion course :)

Hi Guys for the AGOS-04 Form, did you guys still attach the NBI Clearance? 'Coz previously I saw some peeps mention that they submitted it but I think no need if you answer NO to all those questions about criminal bla bla right? Anyone?

Wow, its nice to know that AHPRA acknowledges our nursing education here in the Philippines. :)

And its confirmed! I called VCHN a while ago, I got in for the February 14, 2011 intake. Yipee! I'm just waiting for the COE so I can start me medicals and lodge my visa. Thanks to everyone here who assisted me in one way or another!

I am hoping for the best for all of us! :)
