New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

btw, can someone please interpret this for me?

A correctly certified copy of the Initial Registration Certificate from the Country in which you Qualified as a Nurse.

because that's one document that AHPRA is requesting. If that's the first nursing license I ever had, then I already mailed it along with my application.

I think that's the PRC certification as a registered nurse. The one that looks like a diploma.

If sending a certified copy, it should have the following written on the copy

I certify that this is a true and correct copy of the original document

Your nursing licence is called a practicing certificate here in Aus

Thanks for all your responses.

I am not registered with PRC / Philippines. My initial nursing license is here in the USA. As with the initial registration certificate, ALL the BON's that I am registered or previously held registration has submitted my license status directly to AHPRA. And all documents that I included in the application had been certified according to their rule.

Is bank telegraphic transfer similar to bank draft? or wire transfer? How did you guys pay the tuition for La Trobe? I'm having a hard time because I can't pay thru credit card for some reason (and it's the only mode of payment I'm familiar with)

A telegraphic transfer and wire transfer is the same. A bank draft is the same as a manager's cheque or cashier's cheque. I have not used wire transfer before but have used international bank draft. They basically issue you a cheque in the currency of the country you'll be paying it for (AUD).

Here's a link of pros and cons of either

Where did you study nursing? For them, initial registration usually means registration where you completed your nursing education.

Hey.. I am for ltu may intake and i paid via tt/wt.. U can go to any bank wherein u have funds and then tell them that u have to do telegraphic transfer. U need the details written on docs sent by ltu.. U have to fill up forms and then pay necessary transfer fees..

Hi Raze,

I intend to get in to the May 2012 BP intake of La Trobe Bendigo. Where do you suppose I should send my application (aside from courier)? To [email protected] or through the La Trobe University International Student Portal?

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks

GOD IS VERY GOOD!!! :lttang:

I received my letter of ELIGIBILITY from AHPRA just this afternoon..:clpty:

It took me 3 months & 2 weeks before receiving a very important notice.

For me, my waiting time was lengthened due to my good standing from NM-BON (NCLEX), it lasted for 3 weeks for them (AHPRA) to receive my certificate.

With consistent prayer and optimism, everything is possible..Praise the Lord!

Thank you everyone for all the information and pieces of advice you've shared..

Now time for BP hunting...:yeah:

hi! why did the AHPRA ask for a certificate of good standing from NM-BON (NCLEX)? Im an NCLEX Passer too however I am not registered with California BON, are you already registered with NM-BON? I am hoping that they won't ask for a cert of good standing from CA BON since I'm not registered I'm just a passer.

hello aila..

yes i am registered in NM-BON so they asked me that kind of certificate. Yet as what i know, the BON in NM is a little bit different in CA especially it varies with the requirements in order to be registered in their state. If AHPRA will ask you about the good standing, just explain it to them that ur aNCLEX passer but not registered to their state due to some reason and they will understand that. your case is the same as with one of the forumer here and she just clarified everything and it went well with AHPRA.

Good luck ;)
