Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

to others...as ive said before, it is really really hard to get into Hollywood Private Hospital program.. having said this, if anyone tries to apply there, might as well immediately prepare for plan B, because the chances are really slim of being accepted in said hospital..
good luck to all..
I've applied for BP in this institution and was unsuccessful. Getting in to HPH is a looong shot. Its better to check other BP schools where it is easier to get a slot.
Thanks for the help sweet_toothRN....Are you also trying to get in this September? They said it's already full...I really do hope I can make it.
Yes dear, hopefully... The lady from CON sent me the letter that I'm supposed to show the embassy last Friday (via email, so I just printed it).
I've been compiling the requirements for my visa since this morning. I'm aiming to submit everything and lodge my application on Wednesday.
Hi Everyone,Can somebody enlighten me about my case? I have received my eligibility letter from AHPRA Victoria earlier this month. My case officer emailed me an advanced copy. I immediately applied with CON. However, CON emailed me back because they want a clarification from the AHPRA letter I got instructing me to enroll in a bridging program for nurses. They said my registration doesn't say whether it is for registered nurse (div 1) or enrolled nurse (div 2). My letter just says "Registration - Nurse".
I immediately emailed my case officer regarding this and she has not responded yet. I was hoping to get in the Sept intake of CON but this AHPRA letter seems to be vague, to say the least.
In my email to my case officer, I mentioned that I applied for registered nurse (div 1). And the qualifications I have is of a University Bachelor's Degree. She even asked for the TOR from my previous Bachelor of Arts course before finally giving me my AHPRA letter of eligibility.
I keep on emailing her and trying to call the AHPRA hotline. The call operators were kind of helpful enough to say that they will inform her through email and voice mail. My case officer never has answered any of my phone calls although she mentioned in the emails and formal letters to not hesitate to call her for any other questions and clarifications from my end.
I am positive that based on the AHPRA guidelines, my qualifications are or a registered nurse (div 1). But it is baffling that their letter would only say "Registration - Nurse".
Anyone on the same predicament as I am?
Same thing happened to me. What I did was I rang up AHPRA, asked them to just send me an email clarifying that I was indeed assessed as a Registered Nurse. They did and sent me an email in less than 30 minutes. I then forwarded that email to the lady in CON. I suggest spending 'extra' by way of ringing whoever it is you need to talk to in AU than waiting for forever for them (CON, AHPRA or other schools) to email you back.
Goodluck
pre, the CON staff has a history of decreased LOC... at one point, they do not accept referral letter from AHPRA (Vic,Wa,Qld,SA), when in fact they should, and we know it first here that they should accept it but they do not know yet! ...anyway, your letter is correct... if it is division 2, it should have said "enrolment".... forgive CON's delayed understanding... just seek clarification from ahpra as you have did, and just pray that they will reply asap.. but you are on the right side... remember, god makes you weak or face some problem in order for you to realize how much you need him (via praying).. thatz why we pray..
Thanks for your support and clarification cioman. I really needed it. Kinda frustrated right now. And I don't need this lingering in my head just when I'm about to retake my ielts test this weekend!!! :uhoh3:

Thanks a lot sweet toothRN. I will do as you suggested immediately. I want this issue done and over with. I'm about to retake my ielts this weekend. Don't want this lingering in my head. I don't want to be distracted in getting good scores. :uhoh3:
Then she'll email you back when she has already received 'em and will instruct you on how to pay from overseas. Yes I left the part for 'payment options' blank coz I wasn't sure at first on how to pay the fee.
Hello sweet_tooth... just wondering, since you left the payment option blank, by the time the lady told you to pay was it the 525 application fee? or the entire $10,000 Au payment for the entire program?

When she gave me the go signal to pay (she emailed me), I immediately rang my aunt in NSW and she just called up CON to give her credit card details. That's it. She paid the whole fee ($10,000).
i have applied with ihna, etea, mercyhealth and aaon... i just started my application yesterday.. im hoping to hear from these institutions soon...=)
when u say u have applied to all these schools, u mean u sent all the docs required by all of them? or did u just contact them in order to know about their slots?
thank you!
I sent mine first week of May. I gave them a ring and they told me that my application is still on queue. I'm thinking about trying to call them again...I will ask them if I could have my application transferred to WA. Have you been contacted by a registration officer in NSW?
Actually I havent even received a confirmation email that my docs are there but I know they are there for sure 'cos I sent all my docs through fedex and I had their confirmation.
Today I emailed them again asking for my status and hopefully they´ll reply me soon:redbeathe
Im wondering if NSw will take less time to assess our docs than Vic. I have also considered the possibility of transferring my docs to WA.
Please if u contact them regarding this info, let me know and as soon as they reply me, I´ll let u know:rolleyes:
