New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

We are not rich.. Just so happen that we said money that is enough.. Thanks for the information cioman.. You have been so helpful.. If there is anyone that you now from melbourne, can u help me meet them so i can have a few more friends.. I chose the converaion course because i am planning to take master of nursing after that since my friebd told me that 2 years full time education will make me eligible to apply for permanent residence.. Is this true?

as what joiemike mentioned, there is a new immigration rules come july 2011.. Australian education is only a part of the criteria when you apply for PR, but it is a major "factor", in fact, it has a different PR visa code (as compared to ENS, GSM).. so you are on the right track as long as you comply with the requirements..

unsolicited advice to you and others: if you can use a calculator to solve an arithmetic problem, instead of using your fingers and toes, then would it be better to use a calculator....

if you're desire is to get masteral degree (which is again "money" to be saved and spent), then that's your choice.. if you're real intention is to get PR ASAP, then you went through a long expensive process, whereas there would have been a quicker and cheaper one... nways, i think you have your good reasons for that...

cheers! you're still in better position than others, balato...:D

After the bridging program, if your student visa will expire and you can't find a job that will give you a visa sponsor, what will happen? Can you extend it or your only option is to go home. How can you avoid such a dilemma? If it's inevitable how would you handle it?

prior expiry of your student visa, you can apply for another visa, presumably a 456 visa or tourist visa which of course you have to comply with the requirements of the corresponding visa you are applying for... hence, you can continue to stay on in Australia while searching for a lover... otherwise, you have no choice but to go back home where you were born and had your pampers on... there is no problem in job searching while you are outside Australia, you can still make job applications easily.. the problem i assume is on the cost of going back home, and then later on fly back again to Australia... that's the reality, that's why prayers help, no kidding..

im annoying enough and a prick, when im sure that i know a thing... but im humble enough to tell you if im not... as far as the details knitty gritty of ahpra application, other forumers here are far more expert on said matters, im even planning to ask some of them come a time when my sister will apply...

what do you mean "suitable" institution?? institution for BP school course?? institution to work for in Australia??

errrrr, i think you are referring to BP school, well with your experience and good looks, give it a try to apply at Hollywood Private Hospital BP course.. it's cheaper, and the opportunity to find work is high.. hep hep hep, do not ask me for the contact numbers of said institution, use GOOGLE..

cheers mate!!

hey guys... do i need to send an nbi clearance to ahpra?? if so.. will it still be the certified copy or should i send them the original??

by the way, im planning to send a copy of my passport, copy of my birth certificate, copy of registration and copy of my credit card for proof of identity.. will this do??

thanks!=)

Hello cioman, with regards to the point system.. I only have two years experience here in the Philippines.. Do u think I will still qualify to get a PR as long as I have the right points.. I have 30 points for age, then for example I got an 8 on ielts so thats for 20 points, then 15 points for my bachelor degree in australia.. So thats 65 points.. Thank you again for answering my questions.. Actually I am coming to Australia with my husband as my dependent.. He is also a nurse and would like to take the BP soon.. I am following this thread for myself and for him and its been very helpful.. Thank you so much

thanks for all the info guys. anyway, is possible that i insert a "filled up" application per page. just to check if have i have filled the things correctly?

i could not memorize the details of the point system, but i had it tried to my case..

i think the passing mark is 65 points, thus, you passed.. moreover, i think (not sure) you will also have additional points considering your husband profession as a nurse too.... you will get another points if you have 1 year experience in Australia.. just because you only initially get a 457 visa, it doesn't mean you will be living in hell in Australia, you will still live a normal life together with your husband/family, while processing your papers for the PR.. im not concern about your case because i do not see any problem, i am concern about my case because i could not yet get the 65 points needed (but im not worried yet).. hence, you're better off than me..

Hello guys. need your comments for my page 1 & 2 application. thanks... :)

According to my research, my partner will need to achieve the 65 points also in order for me to add points on partner skills.. :)

With regards to the education in australia, is it more difficult than here in the Philippines? I hope not.. Thanks again..
