Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Got mine too last Feb 7! (Feb 7 is not my birthday though)..Have you heard of any news as to the BP that Queensland will be opening? I emailed AHPRA QLD but didn't get a reply yet..
congrats! nwei, wen did u send ur application? r u still here in the phil? or did u send ur application while in oz? tnx a lot!
can i please remind members of the terms of service and request not to use text talk. this is a good time to practice writing in clear english in case you have english exam to pass plus not all members understand text talk
please do not type entirely in capitals as considered shouting on the internet! desiring to maintain professionalism, text speak (also known as chatspeak, txtspk, texting language or txt talk) is discouraged. along with using proper english spelling and punctuation, this shows respect for the owner, other bulletin board members & guests and makes it easier to read your important thoughts.
makes sense yes if such applicant/student has money to spend for BN(P), but i assume most of us do not have that much moolah then it makes sense to get IRON quickly as to save on cost.. hence it will depend on money and personal choice..RN OZ1 is in Adelaide, she might be able to help you.. Ive never heard of that school before but it doesn't mean adverse, ya know i dont knw everything, one thing im sure of is the San Mig Light institute..
very well said, thank you for this cioman!
@joiemikethank you for sharing your niece's story. it is very inspiring especially for me who is about to do the bp this coming april. when did she finish her bp? did you ask your niece about your queries? i waited 4 months for my ahpra letter. good luck!
She finished her BP 1st week of December
My niece's school was Australian Center of Further Education. She finished her BP 1st week of December. Got her license a month later. She had difficulty looking for jobs in the hospital because she didn't have any work experience. She decided to try the nursing homes last week of January. Got accepted after the interview.
Her perseverance really paid off. I think she is the 1st in her school to have gone to Australia and land a job immediately after getting her Phil license. Her batch mates decided to pursue medicine because of the US retrogression. Some are also doing volunteer work in the hospitals. While others are under contract in a local hospital for 2 years before they can get an employment certificate.
I'm so proud of her!!!

that was fast for you ceridwen! did you pass your AHPRA application while you were in oz? or here in the Philippines? Do you think yours was faster because you were in oz? Because most of the applicants waiting for their AHPRA letter takes them 7-9 months until they receive the letter. please advise. thank you!
