New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

hi,

i would like to seek help from you guys how to apply in Australia or New Zealand? What website can I visit to gain insight about how can I land a job in either country.? I already have my IELTS with straight 7 and soon to be expired this year. I am thinking of applying in Australia, Canada or New Zealand but got no background how. I do not have any relatives there to help me through. Replies are highly appreciated..

just google and read the website... then if you have specific questions after reading then shoot it here, many wud be glad to help you answer ur queries...

google:

- AHPRA Australia (Australia Health Professions Regulatory Agency, tama bah?? basta)

- Nurses and Midwifery Board of New Zealand

also, try visiting in your locality agencies offering australia and new zealand nursing.. visit and inquire from as if you are very rich and ask questions as much as you can for the purpose of getting information.. but read first the websites before visiting agencies..

just went to the ahpra office in queensland today, submitted my application with all the necessary docs, paid the general registration fee+overseas assessment charge+ annual renewal of general registration fee(pro-rated) = $AU400+

now the waiting game begins..

@ciaoman94: Thank you and you're right. You need a big dose of luck to pass it... hehehe. Only once did i encounter a chart/graph in task 1 (i took it thrice already. I passed the one i took last year but failed recently). I just want to be done with it so I can send my application to deakin or la trobe.

Good luck to us all.

what visa does BP fall under? 456 or 442?

what visa does BP fall under? 456 or 442?

456 Bro..

456 Bro..

thanks man.

i was so confused since 456 is a business short stay visa while 442 is an occupational trainee visa.

so dumb of me to think that the bridging program falls under the former as i dont see any relationship between business and bridging program unlike 442 with that "trainee" term would be more proportional to the said program. :o
