Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I wonder if theres anyone who is considering Alpine Health? Thanks:p
Hi there! I have checked their website and I must say the "alps" caught my attention(for me meaning it's bound to be cold!) Have had enough of the heat here hehehe.. Well I know I don't have any assessment letter but I just browsed through the BP providers' websites. I think its indicated on their requirements that they prefer those with 3 to 5 years experience and that they will accommodate up to six places per intake. Yes, they do offer accommodation for I think $110 per week.
Are you planning on doing your BP there? :)
errrr... i have only 3-5 years of bumming:idea::idea:
does that count?:zzzzz:zzzzz:zzzzz
I guess am not qualified.....

Thanks for the quick reply chocokat:hug:
*strikes alpine health off the list*
what other schools are you considering?
Haha me too dumb I only have 2 years of household work experience, and I don't think it counts either
Why not try emailing them or giving them a call? They didn't say it's a MUST rather preferred.. who knows??I'm not really in a serious school hunt mode... don't have an assessment letter yet. Hmmm... why not try Castlemaine?
@dumb & chocokat79 i must say your punchlines made me laugh my a$$ off!:rotfl:.
Alpine Health. Nice view, eh? I called them but I failed to ask the experience requirements. But slots/seats are still available for the August 30 intake. No fees for the application! But slots are only like 6 or 8.
Castlemaine. Last time I called them, their last intake for this year is full already. Not sure if they will make room for another intake this year.
@chocokat79 looks like newmac already did the wurk for me:yeah::yeah:we click dont we? maybe bums think alike:p:p:p
@newmac thank you for sharing relevant infos.. saves me the time and effort of calling.. heheh
and am glad that despite being bums we still have our wits intact lol!:rotfl::rotfl:
cheers everyone!
no prob's. im happy to share info. that's what the forum is all about. :)
however, i would suggest that you still reach them for more updated news. we'll never know when their minds would change about openning more intakes or offering more seats ...(and sometimes certain students do back-out due to some circumstances). so... you may ask them to put you on the waiting list, just in case. :)

me too, that was hilarious.. nice to see the lighter side of chocokat79.. peace
Cioman94You can apply as immigrant and go to aus as pr since you already have an aus license. And when it comes to hiring you're under priority one. And you'll have the option of working part time or the higher paying casual. If you have the resources this is your best option. But if moolah is limited then you'll need to patiently search for an employer.
you hit it right.. my moolah is only enough for baon to oz.. besides i cant wait for 6-9 mos. migration processing because by that time my license would expire and they have stricter requirements for renewal under the new national registration scheme..

I wasn't able to get in at Castlemaine, they are already full. I am asking to be listed on their waiting list. Meanwhile I applied at Univ Ballarat at William Light Institute and ETEA for their October intake. We might be classmates afterall Newmac.
