Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi Everyone,
I am a nurse in the Philippines currently working in a tertiary hospital in Makati. I have one year experience and have passed the IELTS. I was hoping to find sponsors in either australia or nz who would be willing to pay for the cost of my bridging program.
Do you guys have any advice? I have applied for registration for the state of victoria and nz.
Any advice is appreciated guys.
Thanks!

i went to IDP seminar last sat. and i don't know how to react! Most schools offer 2-3 years conversion course! What the heck! Now I'm thinking of going to Curtin. Is it worth it? Perth is so far from Sydney or Melbourne where my aunts are residing. Huhu. Well.... I love the idea of being independent but I'm still scared.

Why would you go for 2 to 3 years when in fact you can have a 3months bgc program and still be registered, so far nbv is the most preferred nurses board in Australia, for the simple reason that the requirements are very achievable even nurses without experience can have their credentials assessed by the board.
Hi guys!
For those who just had a few months working experience, did you have a hard time getting a work statement?
I went to the hospital where I was being trained and they seemed not to understand what it is.
Does anyone here have a sample work statement that he/she can share?
It'll be a big help!
Thankss!!! :)

Work statement
A satisfactory work statement is required from your current or most recent employer
providing evidence of your registered nursing work experience within the past five (5) years.
The work statement must:
1) be dated
2) be on company letterhead
3) state the division of the register (if in Victoria) in which you are or were employed in
(e.g. registered nurse division 1) or if outside Victoria confirm the registered nursing
capacity in which you were employed
4) confirm the dates of employment;
5) confirm the mode of employment (e.g. full time, part-time or casual) and if
employed part-time or casual provide the total number of hours and date of last
shift; and
6) be signed by the Nurse Unit Manager or Nurse Ward Manager, or the Human Resources
Manager or more Senior Administrative Manager. (Please note that abbreviated titles
will not be accepted)
Work statement signatories must provide their full name, title and contact details,
including their direct email address (if available).
Thanks RN 0z1! :D
Actually I've included that in the letter I made for them but they kept insisting on the training certificate.
Well, I need to convince them that this is different. I'll be back there this Friday and if they still can't give it to me then maybe I'll just pass my requirements without the 3-month experience.

Hi terdjay, I'm also interested and weighing my options. Where did you get the info about opportunity in rph, scgh etc after conversion program in curtin? Does curtin secure/assist in job placement after the conversion or your on your own?
