New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

good luck guys...:)

go for etea or vchn...trust me...:)

thanks, ryan...although it makes me a little bit curious...but hey, we trust you...:yeah::D

i already have an offer letter from vchn, i just received it today:yeah:

still waiting for my etea application result...i would really prefer to go to etea.

reiken, newmac, countmein and jakey and others still waiting...hope to see you in oz!!!

best of luck to everyone:yeah:

i just spoke to my case officer today to confirm if she indeed received my additional documentations and to also inquire of any updates with regards to my application and thank goodness was she accommodating. she told me that she is yet to get back on my papers and suggested that i call her again same day, same time next week. so, hopefully, i'd get a favorable news by then and be able to get back on my time line.

for the meantime, back to standby mode, bro! nbv and nmbwa give me some love :redbeathe hehe!

same here. standby mode :) i'll probably call my case manager before end of this month. i hope to see you all guys in Oz (VIC)

Thanks RN oz1! Now I will start working on my application. :)

Is 3 months training in a hospital considered as work experience? I was wondering if I should still ask for a work statement with that.

Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask which state is it best for me to apply to in Australia?

What are the pros and cons of each state ? Thanks!
