New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

@kuchi thanks!

When they send the acknowledgement letter it will be stated in the letter your case manager or registration officer. Then address to them your concern thru email c/o NBV then they will reply straight away thru their personal account, viola!get in touch with them directly.

So i cant email and demand my case manager hehe..i guess i have to wait for the acknowledgment letter. Is that the same as the letter for the bridging program as well or just an acknowledgement letter? Because for a 3 month wait i hope its more than just an acknowledgement letter..hehe

guys where will i send my application to NBV? to the postal add or d office add?

@anyad office add so that someone can receive it.

They will send you acknowledgement first, then after the assessment the letter stating you can now have BP(W/c will be presented to the education provider). Its a bloody long process!plus make sure you get ALL the necessary vaccines coz it may take a while as it cannot be given bolus. So my advice while waiting get the immunizations and blood test so that your expenses wont be all at the same time.Unis won't allow you to be enrolled not unless you have completed the vaccines. They are really going to ask the medical certificate for each vaccine.

What vaccines should one actually have ?

Hi!answered you on the victoria bridging page.:specs:

I NEED HELP GUYS.

My documents are almost done. I am just wondering if the Certification by the DFA (Red Ribbon) is acceptable or not.

Most of my documents: transcript, college diploma, birth certificate are RED RIBBON'd by the DFA-Manila (certification was done by them, and with CHED for the Transcript and Diploma.

I wish to send this documents if they are acceptable because I outside the philippines, where public notaries are not accessible and the Phil. Embassy charge to much for every document or page. Not to mention the delay/long wait. Then Id have to take it to the Ministry of Interior. In short costly, time consuming and inefficient.

So, my question is can I send the documents "Red Ribbon"'d (certified) by the DFA-Manila and CHED? Has anyone done this before? where they accepted?

what worries me is the the clause written in the application form saying:

a) writes and stamps on each page of the document ( no cover sheet or labels accepted.

I was thinking by sending these documents certififed by such institutions, my process will be shortened given the institutions' credibility but when I read this one, I got confused because all RED RIBBON'd documents are having cover sheets. :(

Next question: Passport Copy and License Copy:

Do i just photocopy my Passport and License and have it ceritified? This I have to take to the Phil. Embassy for sure.

Any advise will be appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi, I pretty understand your case, but unfortunately, the council (Board of Nursing) won't accept such, same case with my friend who submitted same documents as yours. The council requires documents to be certified by a notary public, Australian embassy, Justice of Peace, but not DFA-red ribboned and the like. Refer to the council's website for further details regarding certification of documents, as this might delay your assessment process. Good luck.

Hello...

DFA certified documents are not accepted..only documents certified by a Justice of Peace or Notary Public is allowed. They only accepts photocopies of your docs that are certified. Notary public is recognized internationally unlike DFA that are only used for Saudi applicants.
