Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
hello, we are in the same boat...whereabout in victoria are you? im a permanent resident here in victoria, australia too...anyway, someone told me that they(ramsay) require a minimum of 12 months experience, but somebody from here was able to undergo an interview even if she has only 6 months experience...
hey, you dont need to do the Cert.III in aged care for you to work as a PCA in a nursing home...your bachelors degree is more than enough for you to work as a PCA...give me your details and i will give you the contact numbers of one of the nursing agencies in victoria.
@ryan09

GOOD NEWS TO EVERYONE.
i already finish the whole thread just now and decided to do the BP in VICTORIA. the prob is I dont have an IELTS and my certificate of GOOD STANDING. Which means I have to get my cert of good standing to PRC and let them send it directly to NBV.
@ CIOMAN
i will just ask if the PRC DAVAO ALREADY RELEASES THE BOARD CERTIFICATE FOR THOSE SURNAMES WHO STARTS WITH A LETTER PPPPPPPPPPPPPP down to Z (NOV.2008 NLE)
THANKS TO ALL..
HAVE A NICE DAY AND GOODMORNING
Hi all!
I applied at QNC about last week of May. I got my acknowledgement about 2 weeks later. I was one of the few asked for a police clearance which I did promptly. I am a second courser with no experience whatsoever, mind you, I did try my best in applying but i dont have a backer in any hospitals here in cebu. But I'm not giving up, I know someday somehow all our hard work will not be wasted. Anyway, I emailed yesterday after finding out that I can actually ask a specific enquiry and I was told that they just forwarded my application last 22/10/09. This must be because there are a lot of applications this year.
I also just found out that I sent the wrong board certificate, I sent them the board certification...silly me! I am thinking on sending the board certificate on Monday. I am not sure if I should send in my statutory declaration of competence as I have no post grad experience.
Despite the great delay, I am still hoping and praying to get a positive assessment. I have been reviewing every now and then but more only on medsurg.
I have passed my IELTS last month and requested IDP to forward my result to CAS even though they have not asked for it yet as I've seen in their new application form, they need the IELTS results before the application progresses.
The change in July 2010 scares me a little as I have no experience and this could be one of the big requirement change they'll ask for.
Fellow nurses let's just hope for the best and work harder to attain our dreams...
Thank you all for the helpful information you have shared, it has certainly alleviated my anxiety knowing that there are others out there sharing the same dream and agonies as I have.
God bless us all.
hi Im taking my ielts soon..It will be on Nov 7 this year.. kindly furnish me some review materials..It will be a great help....thanks!
it would be best to enroll formally in a review center so that you can practice well and feel what its like during the actual exam. 2 weeks of review would suffice.
usually the hardest part is writing pero if you're good at it na then you won't have a problem otherwise practice more. i think listening is the easiest, everything's given. you just have to concentrate and familiarize their accent. reading just needs skimmming. speaking needs answering directly what was asked pero i guess it depends on the examiner also. if he is chatty then chat along pero if he's somewhat formal/businesslike then be formal also.
good luck sa review and sa test!
Hi perzada, you need 15 posts to be able to send a PM.
As posted here by other members, you can send your documents even without IELTS, but you need IELTS to enrol for BP. I suggest you gather all your documents now and send it ASAP.
You have to photocopy and notarized all the documents(TOR,board cert, license, diploma, work statement etc).
Request a certificate of good standing from PRC, request them to send it directly to NBV.
Visit: http://www.nbv.org.au/ for complete details.
And lastly, backread, as all the infos were already posted.
God Bless.
