New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

I dont think NBV will accept the notarization details printed/stamped at the back portion of the documents. What you can do is photocopy the documents on long bond paper, for other docs already printed on long bond paper, just look for spaces, the notary public can help you with that. Good luck.

Perzada, yes, I think you can bring your dependents/family members with you.

Yeah, I actually have almost all the documents ready, I just lack the IELTS. I'm taking it in November. I will definitely submit my documents before December 2009 ends. Good luck!

In my opinion u should pass all ur application asap even w/o IELTS.

are you sure about this please? our transcript is already in long bond paper...

my transcript is also on long bond paper but the notary public managed to squeezed in the information needed because i requested them that the infos should be in front, not back. you can email NBV directly if you have doubts about my answers. you can also wait for other members to answer your question.

My transcript was on a long bond paper also. Mine was stamped at the back so as not to obscure the details in front. However, my application was in Qld. And I didn't have any problems with it. Make sure that you capture all the details front.

For your peace of mind, you can submit 2 copies certified the way the you like and a letter of explanation to the BON. You may also want reduce the copy to allow space at the bottom for notarization.

Wow now I'm overwhelmed by your warm congratulations! Thanks guys! And thank you all for being patient with me with my queries. Hay... such a relief really... Thank you so much again! Now I'll be joining those who are patiently waiting for the assessment. I'm predicting..what? Maybe end of September no?

By the way, haven't seen uh_huh around lately... I actually owe her a lot too as she had been really very helpful and she even sent me some tips on IELTS.

Thanks for that!!! My IELTS score is qualified with the University's requirements, in fact, I'm also waiting for the Offer Letter from them...So, really weighing my options A)Retake IELTS and if successful, enrol in a bridging program or B) Enrol in the University...and yes..its pretty much more expensive than BP

Thanks again....and hope I'll have the courage to take IELTS again...:icon_roll
