Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I think you got yourself mixed up with the "assessment letter" and the "eligibility letter". As far as I know, those two are different. The assessment letter will tell you whether you've satisfied all requirements or you need some more documents to submit. But the eligibility letter is the one you will present to the bridging program providers. So for your case, I would say, you should expect an assessment letter but not yet the eligibility since you are still lacking some documents.
Guys please correct me if I'm wrong but this is how I understood it. :)
You can actually get the eligibility letter without the IELTS result since you cannot enroll in any university for the bridging program without the IELTS score. And then when you pass the bridge course, you still need to show to NBV the IELTS results.
Farah, i will be applying for the non-award student visa like aelith explained.
hi Chabeli, may I ask if you already received your Letter of Eligibility from NBV?and did you already submit your IELTS to NBV?
I'm still waiting for mine, but I have to take IELTS again...do NBV requires your IELTS result before they give you Letter of Eligibility?
Thanks...goodluck to all!!
i also have to take IELTS again. i haven't received my eligiblity yet but i have already emailed and was told and it would be sent within 30 days from June 12 receipt of amended application form. what i did today was make a fpllow up email saying i haven't received it yet.

One can get the eligibility letter without IELTS??? I never thought it was possible... I've always thought that the eligibility will always be given when all requirements have been met.. That's good to know then. :)

Hi! chabeli, what pathway are you taking? Would it cost much? Have you understand clearly the pathway? Is there any website for that? Thanks, hope you won't mind my asking.
Hi, course descriptor is actually the BSN curriculum of your school containing all the subjects with their corresponding course code, especially when you attended more than 1 school in college. Theoretical Breakdown of Hours, take note, is not the same as the RLE coz RLE pertains to lab skills while theoretical breakdown pertains to the major subjects taken grouped accordingly. It's like the credential verification form of the CGFNS application. Your school can prepare one for you. QNC is becoming more strict to credential assessment now but we just have to complyGood luck.
hi ciao! thanks for the info. I'm still waiting for my assessment letter. I've sent my RLE, do you think i should ask my school for the BSN curriculum even though i haven't received the assessment letter yet? umm, just to save time in case they would require me to pass that document.. what do you think guys? ^_^

Hi! terranova, I think it's the right thing to do, save time, and you have nothing to lose anyway. In my opinion, just send email to them informing, you'll be sending them another document that they might need from you. my suggestion only if you don't mind.

Thanks for this info Chabeli, so I am also expecting for my Eligibility Letter until July 22, since they received my amended application last June 22.
How many months would be the validity of the Non-award Visa? I'm afraid to get a very short visa, bacause I midgt end up going home in the Philippines after the BP, and I was not able to find an Employer to sponsor me for a subclass 457...I have only 6 months of work experience here...
What do you think?
Do you have enough experience Chabeli?
Don't you think its a bit risky?
Thanks...
I asked about it because my Plan B is to study Nursing in Aus for 2 years, so I would end up becoming RN there and also eligible to apply for PR...because of my 2yrs study and RN is worth 60 points in the SOL.
Its a bit expensive and time consuming, but my friend there told me that I can earn enough money for my living expenses and half of tuition fee from part time jobs there....anyway, this is just my Plan B, if I failed IELTS writing again...
BP in Deakin is still my priority....
hi 4vida..right, better to prepare it ahead of time..i'll make asikaso of these during my off next week...thanks very much...:chuckle
Hi! terranova, are you gaining experience as of this time? I hope you don't mind for how long na? Me, I'm on my 6th month hopefully by the end of this month. But I'm aiming for at least one year. Hoping..before doing my bridging program. God willing..Good luck to all us.
