New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

The Justices of the Peace throughout in Australia follow a standard same pattern in certifying documents.

This can be used as a pattern:

Hope this helps.

Mr KOWALSKA: I plan on applying for a 456 visa when it is time for me to do the Part B. How do I apply for it and how much does this interim visa cost? Most of all, where do I apply for it? Can I do it by internet or do I have to pass the papers personally? Please enlighten us.

Also, what type of interim permit can I apply for? You know, the number (like 456, 656, 175 etc)

DOLCEVITARN: Have you received your QNC assessment? When do you plan on taking the Part A?

Still waiting for my confirmation....

I submitted december... GOd willing i can get my confirmation by April...

Mr. Kowalska Yes, my colleague got a 456 Short Stay Visa, multiple entry valid for one year. She will be doing the CAS program. Another colleague got also a 456 Short Stay Visa, multiple entry valid for one year and will be doing the Bridging program at College of Nursing in Burwood Sydney.

Hi. Your colleagues who got the 456 visa, are they from the Philippines? Thanks!

Sent my application via EMS today. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone... Those who are already in australia, please help me, any feedback about ETEA and Mercy Health Training Institute? How about Ramsay? Ramsay is really very cheap its only $4000-5000 course fee. I wonder what includes that since most of those that I have inquired costs around $10000 or more... I am planning to take the Initial Registration Course in one of these facilities.. Any suggestion about where to take the course will be of great help..

hi.. i've been reading this thread for quite a few days now and i've honestly learned a lot already :)... I have actually applied already at NMBWA and just received an advise yesterday of thier receipt of my application, and i'm quite nervous but still hoping i could get an eligibility for the bridging program.. hehe

Just wondering, if there's anybody here who's also waiting for thier application at NMBWA? maybe we can keep each other posted? :wink2: thanks!

Ey guys!

QNC acknowledged the receipt of my application last February 18, 2009. PRC Manila sent my verification of license last March 6, 2009. To those who received their go signal to take part A test, can you all give me a rough estimate of when will I probably receive the approval to sit for part A? Thanks a lot in advance!

BTW, I let PRC send my verification of license via regular mail, which they told me will take 20 days before it will arrive in OZ. Will that set me back much?

All your responses will be a great help. If it will still take more than 3 months before I sit for the test, I might consider going back to the hospital to add some more months to my experience. Thank you! (Paris Hilton version! hehehe!)
