Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
thanks ryan, oh okay, so there isn't much difference in the program except for the location? so you just have the find what suits you best? congrats for your approval in QNC, another thing, is there a substitute document for the board certificate that i could attach if ever i would apply for the BP, coz i just recently passed the boards and i think that wld be the last document to be released, or should i make a letter or something? what i have is the license, wch i would get days from now, as well as cert. of board rating and passing, what other docs should i obtain from the PRC? thank you.

yes...but its not about what suits you, its about the availability of positions for you, as some of the program providers might not have vacancies. :)
you will have to obtain, cert. of initial registration and a verification form the PRC...as for me, instead of obtaining a verification of initial registration, they gave me cert. of good standing, which can be processed quickly compared to the other one...(i think so)
hello,i've been gone for a while and there seems to be so much information. Is there anyone who can provide a list of BP providers, requirements, cost and duration for VIC? I am still trying to decide where to apply. Very frustrating. I've filled out all application forms to different states but don't know which one to send out. I read somewhere that VIC has intake all year round, is that correct? I'm now more encouraged since I thought only NSW had that. I hope someone can share this information so I can finally decide.
*Aelith, I tried to pm you many times before but for some reason I couldn't send a message
I'm sorry I've been away for awhile too.. For the BP Providers in Vic, the NBV site is the best site to get this information. As for the cost, you will just have to google each institution to get the amount.
If you are overly confused as to where you should apply, list down first your preferences/priorities. For example, which state do you like to stay, how much is your budget, how long is the processing times, when is your target date/year to go to Australia, etc. I am pretty sure this will narrow down your choices.
As for the year-round intake, NSW and QLD would have that. For Vic, I don't think they have year-round (means multiple intakes in one year). For VIC, one institution would have at least 2-3 intakes per year ( I think); whereas NSW and QLD do have 10 or more intakes per year.
are most of your opting to do the bridging course?? no one wants to do the CAS instead ? just been noticing alot of post regarding school cost and all..been gone for sometime..
I'm guessing it's because QNC's taking a long time to assess people now and that some prefer to stay in their dream states (e.g. NSW and VIC) or just because they have relatives in that specific state. That's why I always say that the "best pathway" would always depend on our own preferences and priorities.
hi cvjc1228! i was able to talk with the HR in one of those accredited institutions, yes, they said that the hospital where you take the clinicals might hire those who are taking the BP, if they see you to be competent to practice, of course. There are also some immigration agents who facilitate the BP enrollment for you at the same time they also have an employer ready for you the moment you are done with the BP and you're processing the registration. I was able to talk with them too. No need to go back to the Philippines after the BP. They do all the works converting visa 456 to 457. Hope somebody confirms these information for me specially those who took this path and became successful in OZ.
You are right with institutions hiring those who had their clinical placements in there for their BP. As for the migration agents, they can only help you process the visa and guide you how to do it. A 457 visa can only be applied for if you have a sponsor/employer. You can stay in Australia if you apply for a 457 visa while your 456 visa is still valid. IF this happens, you will be given a bridging visa which will let you stay in Aus legally until a decision is made for your application for a 457 visa. But, keep in mind too that you won't be able to get a job while on a Bridging visa because your previous visa (456) has no working rights. Meaning, you will stay in Aus and pay for everything from your own pocket. That is the reason why some people would rather go back to PI - to lessen the expenses.
^If that's the case, what visa will those without employer get to take the CAS part B?
hi,
you can go to CAS, Queensland thread...
a certain forumer (joeturtle) just received his visa from the australian embassy, its called tourist visa class 676...and he is allowed to stay in queensland for three months.he will be doing the CAS test b there.

hi...im not doing anything yet in victoria, im still weighing some factors...if im going to do the BP in vic, it would cost me fortune, so im not decided yet...as my application in QNC has been approved also.
this is a very late reply to your question previous pages ago;
Initial registration and Pre-registration...-> the difference is that one of the program is done in a hospital and the other one is in a Uni or training school...
