New grad failed nclex twice.

Hi thank God for a Site where someone can relate to what im going through. I took the wicked test of nclex twice and still studying. On my first exam my computer shuts off at 85 questions and on the second exam my computer shuts off at 112 questions resulting in failure.

Could someone please give me some advise on which nclex sourse is the best. Im currently using sauders, Kaplan and also Marlene knows best. Do you think I need to do more questions or more studing from the book? I need help please...

P.S. Im talking my exam in the next two weeks.

I would strongly suggest you visit the NCLEX Forum here on allnurses. It's a board devoted to people who are taking the same test, retaking the same test as you, and LOTS of info to learn there.

As an FYI, you might want to check on whether you can use the screen name you just signed on with: it used to be that anyone using "RN" as an obvious title needed to HAVE that license first. You don't, so.....I'm not sure you can keep using that.

Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful tests! I had a nursing instructor who also taught a NCLEX review that the number top reasons for failure is test taking skills and test fatigue. She recommended that we do several sessions of answering 250 questions at a time and review our test taking skills. She claimed the students that practiced the questions did better than those who just studied. You can also find out what your weaknesses while going through questions and find the areas that you need to brush up on.Good Luck!

Hey there...Kaplan is a really great resource when studying. I took the course which teaches the same strategies that are in the book but the practice questions you get are definitely worth the money! They are so similar to the NCLEX questions and I think you can purchase just the QBank questions without getting the class as well. THey are great because they show rationales for all the answers. Ah, missed that possibility--guess it's the title "new grad fails test" that made me think this person has no RN license as yet. I remember a couple of years ago a number of user names that needed changing, so it came to mind.

We still change names but we are seeing a lot of new grads from other countries sitting NCLEX. Thanks though for your highlight and hopefully the op will let us know her status
