I came across this program, while following NYC HHC on twitter. Sounds like a great program where you get classroom and clinical experience, with preceptorship at hospital in NYC. Deadline is April 18! You need a BSN, RN license, and no experience working as RN. It is free if you are chosen based on application and there is a stipend at the end of the program.
I wish they had a program like this when I was a new grad 2 years ago, but I got an RN job at an HHC hospital eventually and now have over a year experience.

It sounds like the same thing as a Capstone placement during nursing school (1 on 1 preceptorship for 6 months)
It isnt. My school had capstone/preceptorship with 12hr shifts for 3 months however we would not be automatically considered for a job after as you dont have BSN or RN license yet. In this program, the hospital hosting the participant considers him/her for a job if they meet all the requirements of the unit they are on...which if you work well, get along with staff, etc should get you considered for hiring. In this program, one already has an RN license while when you are a BSN student you dont have a license or degree yet so it will be at least 3 months (counting graduation from BSN, receiving ATT, taking NCLEX) until you meet basic hospital requirements.
