New here....finishing pre-reqs

Published

Hi all!!! Glad I found this site!

My name is Kathy. I'm a proud mom of 4 kids...16, 15, 12

and 7...older are girls and my son is the 'baby'. I've been

happily married for 16yrs.

I'm going back to school finishing my pre-reqs after a long

hiatus.

DH just retired from active duty Army this past April. I've

had to decline 2 acceptances due to deployments. The

waiting list for one of the local tech colleges(Midlands Tech)

is 3yrs! Math and Biology grades there are only good for 5

years....I got A's in A&P 1 and 2 and B's in Med. Mirco and

College Algebra. No way I'd wanna retake those! USC...I'd

have to take another year of pre-reqs before I could even

get in to upper division. So I've applied to South University.

I'll be taking Chemistry, Medical Terminology, and Strategies

for Success. The qtrs are only 7wks. Next qtr I'll take

Nutrition, Statistics, and Pathology. So June I'll be starting

the Nursing!

I'm really excited and happy to finally see acceptance to a

program. At the same time though I'm really nervous. Really.

I'll be hanging out here as I see a lot of great resources for

students! Thanks for letting me join:yeah:

Congrats on your acceptance and good luck with your spring courses.

Hi! Thats why Im only doing my pre-requisites there then Im going to apply to Greenville Tech or Spartanburg Tech since they dont have waiting list they go by weighted admissions and they dont require that you take a test like the SAT or NET. Midlands Tech has a VERY VERY good nursing program thats why their wait list is soooooo long. Congrats and good luck! Oh Im just starting my prereqs on Monday Im nervous and excited since I have been out of school for almost 2 years. Im mainly nervous about A&PI.

Thanks and good luck to you as well!

I'm starting Monday as well. A&P wasn't too bad. Take good notes and study and you'll be ok. I had been out of HS 10+ yrs and managed an A in both I & II. Don't

forget they have study groups on here as well.

Best of luck to you!
