I hope I'm not duplicating questions, I have read the FAQ here, all the Excelsior threads going pretty far back, and all the information on the Excelsior website.
Basically I'm just left with a couple of logistical questions, looking for examples of how other people have made the program work for them.
I have no college credits going in. For a variety of reasons, satisfying the gen ed requirements at a local college isn't an option for me.
I see Excelsior offers tests on many or most of the gen ed. requirements but they are $275 per course. CLEP is only $77 for the test. Did anyone CLEP as many gen ed courses as they could?
Second how long did you give yourself for each test? Did you do more than more subject at a time or strictly do one at a time, test, then go to the next? I am planning on getting the study materials then registering for the test a set time later (I want to give myself enough time to study but don't want this to take forever and ever, either.) I feel if I have a test date scheduled already I'll have a deadline and then be inclined to not putting off studying.
Is it crazy to try to do 2 or more subjects at once? Or take the nursing courses you can take before enrolling while studying to CLEP gen-ed requirements?
Just looking for tips and what worked for other people.
Oh, also, if you did CLEP, what study materials did you use? I would get the CLEP study guide, of course, is it then necessary to get text books for each subject? Is there a company that provides CLEP study materials that anyone would recommend?

CLEP or straighter line as much as you can. For CLep, I used instacert to study. For Straighterline, I rented the recommended texts from Chegg. Much luck.
