Currently living in NJ as a stepdown/tele/medsurg RN. Starting to get the ball in motion to pick up and go to Las Vegas/Henderson. Trying to research hospitals and jobs there. Curious if anyone has any input on what hospitals are better to work at, are there unions, where should I look, typical patient ratios, PAY or anything that stands out. My plan is to move end of next year just have to get some ducks in a row including applying for nevada license. Going out there in April to drive through some different neighborhoods, like Silverado Ranch, Green Valley and Inspirada

Anyway, I took my prereqs/ associates at CSN and thought I'd give NSC a shot, but their point system is confusing me LOL. Using their prior point system, I would be applying with a 93, I think? With the new point system, I calculated 737/1000 points.
Wow!!! It sounds like Nevada nurses really want compact licenses. I am behind you 100% on this topic, and am so inspired by how willing all of you are to make your voices heard!

Nevada currently has a Nurse Licensure Compact bill in it's state legislature. Delegate Sandra Jauregui is the primary spokesperson for this bill. Washington State just passed it's NLC bill . Hundreds of letters of support for joining the NLC were sent to Washington legislators by Washington nurses. Their voices were heard.

Hey everyone, I wanted to make a CSN Spring 2023 discussion since the deadline is approaching. I met with a health advisor and they said for the past year they haven’t had much people applying. Apparently only 50-60 people applied/accepted last semester even though they can admit 112! I’m just really excited to be admitted into a nursing program after 2 years of pre reqs! It feels like it’s taking forever LOL.
However, I still have to take the TEAS. Did anyone take the new version yet? I took the HESI and got a 96.5% on that, but I heard the TEAS test is a bit more difficult than the HESI.

Without the TEAS added to my score, I have 25 points so far. What points are you all applying with? Hopefully we all make it!

Just wanted your anyone's opinion on which hospital or company is best to work for? I'm looking for a good work-life balance if that's possible.

I have around 7 years of experience: 5 from an acute adult cardiology ward, and 1.5 years in a cardiothoracic ICU. I'm looking to work in anything related to cardiology or even expand to a Stepdown unit, Recovery/ PACU, Endoscopy, or Dialysis.

	Thanks for any advice.

	Hi all,

We are planning to move from CA to Nevada and we are choosing between Henderson or Summerlin area. Just wondering what are the hospitals that has the best offer in this area in regards to pay and benefits. Or do they offer relocation assistance.
My wife is an RN with 1 year step down and 5years ICU experience . What would be the ongoing hourly pay for nurses with this experience? And which hospital is the best? We are looking into UMC but upon research they don’t pay that well. Is St. rose a good choice?

As for me, I am a foreign trained nurse who just recently passed my RN exam. But I do have 2 years LVN experience working in ambulatory care in one of the LA County Hospital. Does that qualify as an acute experience? And also there’s a lot of RN residency program that different hospital offers but I don’t know if I qualify for those since I am not a recent graduate. Just wanna know where can I apply.

Any input would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

	Hello guys!

I am in California and looking to possibly relocate to Nevada. I am seriously looking at NSC for Fall of 2021. I have taken just about all pre-requisites except for BioL-189 (Fundamentals of Life Science). I have a BA already so the pre-reqs weren't completed at NSC and I'm concerned about this. If I calculated everything right, I have about a 3.74-3.75 "ish" GPA. I am ALMOST ready for the TEAS, but am terrified. Just worried that even if I score a 100% on the TEAS that I won't have a competitive application because of how they do their point system. I REALLY hope I can go to NSC. I'd appreciate feedback from folks who are in the program or know people in the program, alumni, etc. Just nervous based on my research. Should be meeting with a counselor soon, but just want some "boots on the ground" feedback. Thanks! ?
